The octovinbion replaced its ancestor in Maineiac Volcanic and has spread to many of the otherwise empty biomes of Maineiac. Their trunk has been reduced to a stub from which eight arm like vines radiate. Each of the vines has two rows of conical leaves (shown in cross section in the insert) which are derived from the small orblets there ancestors had on their prongs. They have also regained the ability to produce spores which grow on the tops of the leaves. Because of the way they grow with new hubs forming at the end of the vines old colonies often resemble massive nets stretching across the landscape.
