Clawed Grapplebun
Characterized by their trait of enlarged, claw-like hairs on their lateral arms and feet, Clawed Grapplebuns have advanced greatly from their ancestors. Their range has extended to larger areas of land than its ancestor, encompassing Monsoon Forests and Subtropical Forests, which is accompanied with adaptations to help them survive here better. They have thicker skin than their ancestor to help with their range. Their claws can be used for gripping and cutting, allowing it to access food sources it otherwise wouldn't, such as multiple species of terrestrial flora. Their eyes have become a sort of pinhole eye to help see better, and is filled with a jelly-like substance. Their ventral lips have seen a considerable amount of advancement, the bristles becoming more of a tree with movable branches in a sense. Each barb is now used to directly inject prey with the digestive enzymes, and have several more 'filter baits' on them to help with filter feeding. The tips of each bristle is the only area where the enzymes can be released outside of an object. The enzymes are now linked to their own organ called a 'Sakoxeos', which is located directly under their digestive tract. They have specialized hairs just behind their ventral lips to help with feeling around the sides of its body.
Their interior has seen some considerable advancements, mainly to help it spot food and avoid predators. Their nervous system now has a main nerve cord extending from its brain and going along the upper area of its body, which has several branches coming off and spreading across its body. In its head segment, it can release the enzymes from its sakoxeos into its digestive tract as a primitive form of Silva to help further break down food. There are two new holes in its digestive tract - which are protected by many hairs - and have three hairs at at the end of each, which these hairs and interior of the hole are connected to a ring of chemoreceptive cells. These cells are used to smell the environment, and it uses a ring of muscles in its mouth to take in air/water to move it through this. It has advanced its circulatory system and now has seven hearts in total, each being in one segment, and are connected via large arteries, which are connected to many smaller veins and arteries that spread throughout its body.
